Complex piezoelectric material parameters of hard PZT determined from a single disc transducer

Abstract A poled piezoelectric ceramic such as Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) belongs to a C∞ crystal class, with ten independent material constants. If we consider losses, all the parameters can be represented in complex form 10 also have loss components associated them. Therefore, total of 20 constants are required obtain entire model. In this work, present procedure for determining complete reduced matrix ultrasonic disc transducer using one-dimensional resonance analysis thickness and radial modes parametric sweep finite element numerically calculate impedance while comparing it measured impedance. The objective is that minimize error between data numerical curve without any optimization techniques. We follow standard then conduct sensitivity sweeps COMSOL evaluate unknown values. addition, transform equations critically sensitive concerning other consistent evaluated constant sets. To validate procedure, used responses 2 discs diameter-to-thickness ratios 25 22.5. comparison experimental results shows an excellent agreement electrical curves.
